Peggy A. Quince Named Chief Justice-Elect of Florida - Florida Supreme Court Justice Peggy A. Quince was elected to become Florida's 53rd

Chief Justice.  The Justices unanimously elected Justice Quince to serve as the first African American woman to lead the state's third branch

of government effective July 1, 2008.
