The current Alachua County Family/Civil Justice Center was built in 1978 just east of the
previous courthouse, which is now the Alachua County Administration Building.
It is the fourth Alachua County Courthouse located in Gainesville. This building originally housed Family, Civil, and Criminal Divisions--Criminal cases are now handled in the new Alachua Criminal Justice Center.
