There are a number of audio/visual devices available for use in the courthouses of the 8th Judicial Circuit. This equipment is provided at no cost to the attorney (but with some obligations--see below).

Equipment Available

• TV VCR/DVD carts These are carts with a TV or VCR on them. Some carts have combination DVD/VCRs.
• Nomad Evidence Presentation Cart (pictured above) These devices include:
  • LCD Projector
  • Document Camera with Whiteboard
  • VCR/DVD player
  • Bose speakers
  • VGA & audio hookup for your laptop
  • Onboard computer with wireless keyboard and mouse
  • An easy to use control panel that makes it all work together.
  Available in Alachua, Bradford, & Levy counties. (The Levy Nomad has no onboard computer; you'll need to bring a laptop to present computer-based information.)

Caveats

However, we do ask that you:
• Reserve the equipment well in advance. The earlier the better, and 15 minutes before the trial does not constitute "in advance". :-) We have a limited number of devices available; if you don't reserve in advance, one might not be available for you.
• Take time to familiarize yourself with the equipment (especially the Nomad). Arrange for a training prior to the court event if you haven't used the equipment before.
• Do not expect help during the trial. We don't have the staff available to operate equipment for you.
• Try out your presentation beforehand. If you're bringing in evidence on a CD, DVD, tape, or laptop, please arrange to come by and try it to see if it works on our equipment before the event in question. Technical support issues are not pleasantly resolved in open court.
