ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. 8.730(A)
ALACHUA COUNTY SUBSTANCE ABUSE POLICY BOARD
Whereas, the Legislature of the State of Florida in enacting the "Florida Comprehensive Drug Abuse Prevention and
Control Act" set forth in Chapter 893 of the Florida Statutes, recognized society's need to prevent, punish and treat
drug abuse, see sections 893.16 and 939.017 of the Florida Statutes (1993) and sections 893.165, 938.13 and 938.23 of
the Florida Statutes (1998) and
Whereas, the judiciary of the Eighth Judicial Circuit seeks to implement a comprehensive anti-drug abuse program in
cooperation with local government and the citizens of Alachua County, Florida; and
Whereas, the Alachua County Substance Policy Board was created to identify, develop and suggest a comprehensive
anti-drug abuse program thereby enabling the criminal justice system to discharge the mandate under Chapter 893 of
the Florida Statutes; it is therefore
ORDERED that the Alachua County Substance Abuse Policy Board established on June 23, 1995, shall continue its
functions under the By-Laws adopted by the Board on May 13, 1999.
