EIGHTH JUDICIAL CIRCUIT

ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. 8. 1 0 1 0

Order Establishing New Courtroom

The present Alachua County Courthouse was opened in 1978.

The Board of County Commissioners of Alachua County has continuously supported the court and its facility needs.

A 1995 report by the space planning consultants for Alachua County found that the courthouse was overcrowded and that relief was needed until such time as a new family law center can be funded.

In recognition of the need for more space and better access to the courts through the use of advanced technology the Board of County Commissioners of Alachua County supported the construction of a specialized hearing room with video capabilities.

It is therefore

ORDERED that the new video hearing room is hereby designated as Courtroom 2E.

Ordered on July 12, 1996
